Bloedel Donovan

Park with picnic facilities, a swimming beach on Lake Whatcom, an off-leash dog area & a playground. A great park for families for picnicking, swimming, and play. Spacious lawns, sandy beaches, a playground, a clubhouse, and changing rooms for swimmers. It is one of Bellingham’s favorite parks.

Boulevard Park

This is a stunning waterfront park near Fairhaven and South Hill. Featuring a canoe and kayak launch, children’s playground, lots of grassy picnic area, tables, benches, a small beach, and bandstand, Boulevard Park affords the best available water views in Bellingham.

Broadway Park

Small neighborhood park that is peaceful. It has good climbing trees and a newer playground. The park is a long strip that travels about 4 to 6 blocks long so it has plenty of room to play catch with your dog.

Cornwall Park

A beautiful, wooded park with huge evergreens, well-maintained walking & biking trails, and a gorgeous creek running through part of it. There is a nice play area for kids also activities such as frisbee golf, basketball, horseshoes, and even tennis!  In the summer enjoy hours of fun at the splash park.

Fairhaven Park

Great place for running or walking on the trails. There are many unique things about this park that others don’t have. It has a grass field, unique playground features, tennis courts, restrooms, huge plants, trails close to the creek. In the warm summer months, everyone will want to splash around in the spray park.

Fairhaven Village Green

Open area with bench seating beneath a grape arbor. It’s a fun festival space with frequent fun events in the summer: live music, outdoor cinema, and more. There are these cool wall murals and lots of local eateries so it’s perfect to grab a snack and chill on the great lawn space.

Lake Padden

Great park to take your dog to let them get some quality off-leash time. It’s a nice little beach with calming views that makes for the perfect spot for reading, picnic-ing, sun-bathing, etc.

Sehome Hill Arboretum

Nice views from lookout points it has a really easy trail system with markers and a map. The old tunnel is right next to the upper parking lot, no hiking required. It is so beautiful it would be easy to wander around for hours looking at trees.

Whatcom Falls Park

Wonderful place for a family getaway. Lots of small trails and not to mention beautiful waterfalls to dip your toes in. Ample parking and has a tennis court too. Public restrooms are available onsite.

Waypoint Park

This is a very nice park the city has recently built on part of the old Georgia Pacific site. There’s a nice wide paved walking and biking path with lots of native plants. Interesting giant ball( called the Acid Ball) -it is coated with a reflective paint that apparently causes it to ‘glow’ if you flash a light at it, say from a camera on your phone. The Granary building is a beautiful, fun play area, rocky little beach, industrial charm, and a pump track.
